The Finnish pizza vending machine chain Fizza continues its growth in Western Uusimaa. Nummela is next in line as a new pizza machine opens at the Nummela Ice Rink (Kuoppanummentie 20, 03100 Nummela), offering fresh, Finnish, and handmade pizza around the clock.
Located right in the courtyard of the Nummela Ice Rink, the new machine will serve customers 24/7, whether it’s for post-workout hunger, a late-night snack, or a quick solution in the late hours of the evening.
Behind these Fizza machines is an entrepreneurial trio consisting of Jan Weckman, Trevor Malkasaari, and Tuomas Kolari. They opened their first Fizza machine in Siuntio in March and soon expanded to Lohja. The Nummela Ice Rink location marks the trio’s third Fizza outlet.
The location at the ice rink was no coincidence; it was chosen based on the entrepreneurs’ own experiences and everyday needs.
“I’ve done a lot of training at the ice rink late in the evening myself, and often after practice, you’re absolutely starving right when all the restaurants have already closed. That’s where the idea came from—getting a proper meal right after training, and also giving parents a chance to grab a quick bite while waiting,” Malkasaari explains.
Fizza’s pizzas are handmade in Finland using fresh ingredients. They are delivered to the machines regularly and kept chilled to ensure freshness until the exact moment they are ordered. The pizza can be served hot and ready in about three minutes, or taken cold in just 30 seconds to be baked at home.
The entrepreneurs see Nummela as a vibrant hub where there is a clear demand for a fast yet high-quality food option.
In five years, Fizza has rapidly grown into a nationwide phenomenon, with fresh pizza machines now operating in dozens of municipalities across Finland. This strong growth continues this year with new towns and entrepreneurs joining the movement.
